THE ANGLO TERRORS ARE COMING!

In a world dominated by French designers and sailors, the first all Anglo boat slipped into the ocean in Cape Town, South Africa today. Built by Jaz Marine to an Owen Clarke design, Friends of the Earth is the first of two Owen Clarke Class 40's being built in South Africa.

Sailor, Jonathan Crinion now has the task of completing sea-trials and then making the voyage back to the UK. This trip will serve as an extended trial for both sailor and boat as the prepare for the upcoming Route de Rhum

Friends of the Earth, together with the second Class 40 being built by Jaz Marine, Bolands Mill are both entered in the 2006 Route de Rhum where the Class 40 promises to be the class to watch with 30 entries to date.
