Time 
We are some friends from Italy, we are writing you about the Euro GP which has just ended yesterday in our club. CFV skiffsailing Dongo is a small and young club on the north end of Lake Como (somehow near to George Clooney's home) and it was the first time we had such an important race scheduled. We had planned three days of races, of which just one had the right wind conditions... The first day was awesome: we had a forecast for light wind, so everyone just went out with the big rig, but once on the water the gusts started to blow hard and the crews needed to show their guts to keep the boats upright. Our photographer was of course on the racing area and so he took some great shots. Out of thirteen boats on the water only five made their way to the starting line! During the second downwind leg the wind reached 25-30 knots, and then all the boats capsized. Enjoy! Carlo 08/15/06 |
