At least for Reichel/Pugh, that is. If you look, you can see that funny apendage sticking down in the front of the boat. To our knowkedge (such as it is), this is the first boat they have done with this configuration. Just launched, this canting ballast, twin foil, (CBTF) 60' was built by Azzura Yachts of Queensland, Australia. Wild Oats weighs about 19,000 pounds at it will be fun to see what it does.

Here are some more shots of the two rudder, canting keel R/P 60 Wild Oats, courtesy of our friend Andrea Francolini (www.afrancolini.com). While we don't know exactly what we think of the foil arrangement, we do know that we like the fact that the envelope is being pushed, to some degree. I mean, if you were ordering your new 60', would you choose this type of boat?

In the meantime, we'll enjoy watching what the boat does Down Under.
