There are always going to be some of you who just don't care about the latest Grand Prix boat. I however will never be one of them. I've always been fascinated by the newest designs, and always will be. In a climate that is bereft of a lot of Grand Prix action, the TP 52 Class has some momentum. The latest entry to the class is Braveheart, from the board of Brett Bakewell-White. Brett sent us the following text and photos. This one will be fun to follow, which we will. Whether you like it or not! - Ed

These are photos from the launching of “Braveheart” earlier this week. We have been sailing every day this week and just working things up. The spinnakers are stuck at LAX so haven’t been able to go for a blast yet. We used a pissy little fractional A-sail yesterday and had no spinnaker pole, so not set the best but still doing over 12 knots in 15kts wind true! All has gone well with the boat being beautifully built and under-weight by Lloyd Stevenson and his team in less than four months. Looking forward to some fun soon, when the chutes arrive.

Will send you info and pics on our maxi soon!

Cheers,

Brett Bakewell-White, B.Arch., ARINA, SNAME.
