The
Chapin Company
Innovation,
quality and dedication are important qualities when it comes to
companies and their products, and I believe our newest advertiser,
The Chapin Company, has these traits. The Chapin Co. designs and
manufactures multi-use outerwear for sailing and other outdoor markets.
They are the first company in the marine industry to use EPIC by
Nextec® fabric --an encapsulated fabric that is engineered to
maximize performance attributes such as breathability, water resistance,
and durability without negatively affecting the feel of the fabric.
Last
year, The Chapin Company announced a partnership with Dawn Riley,
CEO of America True, and the team manager for the French K-Yachting
Challenge bid for the 2007 America's Cup, to produce a line of outwear
specifically made for women. This line is in addition to the all-new
"ultra-light" product line for men. The vision for the
Dawn Riley women's line is to build "accessible" products
for a variety of weather conditions. Retail prices on the line will
be attractive to customers considering the function and features
of the products, which is in keeping with Chapin's business philosophy
and Ms. Riley's criteria for the line. The products in the Dawn
Riley line will be suitable for a majority of average user's needs.
A percentage of the sales will go to America True's "True Youth"
programs dedicated to providing youth nationwide with the opportunity
to benefit from sailing and its inherent life's lessons.
