Here are the pictures of the production of the deck mold for the JS40. The red color is gelcoat layer, which has a coating of 450 csm on it. They (Admralty Yachts) are going to build up the mold over the next week, with a launch date forecast for November. A fast, simple and inexpensive 40 sailed by something like 5 people will certainly make people pay attention. They will, however, need to make sure that this JS is right from the start. People might accept some problems with the 9000, but not with a 40'. And I think the folks at Admiralty understand this.

The Admiralty Yachts-built JS 9000 will commence full production officially on the 1st of November. They will produce 2 test boats early next month from their molds to make sure the quality is there. This, given the spotty quality reports of some early 9000's, can only be a good thing for the 9000 (and ultimately the 40). For more info go to www.admiralty.com.sg
