Sobstrom? Elvstad? These are photos from Keith Moore, the owner of the 42' Reichel/Mills 42 Pla Loma (see Phuck It in the archives) showing the result of the merger between Sobstad and Elstrom. We don't know all that much about it except to say that this mainsail is a continuous (unlike Genesis) fiber laminated sail made at Sobstad International in Malaysia. According to Keith, they were able to blade the main out when the pressure got to 15 knots, and got some decent shape into the top of the sail when the pressure lightened as in these photos, which were taken in 11-13 true.
