An amazing phenomenon is the recent build of a bunch of new super maxi line-honors mono hull machines. These beasts are springing up all over the world - some built to rules, some not. The West Coast of Cali spawned it's own breed of 86's, the MaxZ86, but these may be rendered quickly obsolete by a new batch of 90 plus footers. There is always much secrecy about these types of projects, but one of the newest, Wild Thing, has sent us some info you might find interesting.

Designed by a relative unknown, Don Jones, the boat is to be 96' long, draw 15', a mere 16' wide, with a 115' tall rig. Here are some shots of it under construction at Mal Hart's yard, along with some computer-generated renditions of what it might look like.
