Multi Sails
Antrim
40 and D4 from Halsey Lidgard Mystic.
Paul
van Dyke from Halsey Lidgard share their newest stuff and the newest Tri.
–Enjoy.
The
new Jim Antrim designed 40-foot trimaran Zephyr is making quite a splash
in its New England racing debut.
She
placed 5th in her first race and won the next two.
Halsey
Lidgard Mystic made the new tri 3 new sails using Dimensions D4 custom
fabric. The sails are a main, large jib and staysail. With its 32-foot
beam and high volume floats the boat is quite powerful. The large jib
has a 135% overlap and the boat can handle it up to 18 true. With upwind
speeds approaching 15 knots there is not much on the east coast that can
keep up.
In
the New England Solo Twin, a 94 mile double handed event, Zephyr was first
on elapsed and corrected time. She completed the course in 10:49 for an
average speed of 8.7.
In
the Buzzards Bay Regatta she won 6 out of 7 races.
The
new sails are fast, strong and set up well to their designed shape. Check
out the pics.
Up
next is the Newport Unlimited and a new masthead spinnaker (plus a possible
rating adjustment).
