Uh, It Looks Good. Really.

From the report before Hobart 04 I mentioned the dinosaur Volvo 60 that used to be know as Dennis Conner's Toshiba. It was in the Noakes shed being extended and turboed for an owner with way too much money and not enough common sense. Well, we finally managed to get some pics of the beast that didn't break the camera.

The sugar scoop they placed on the transom actually created a beautiful, slender boat. The bowspirit....well, that's another matter.

The spirit itself is some 12 inches wide at deck level (more than big enough to walk down), while the bobstay is not only a solid piece of glass, but at least an inch and half thick (athwartships) and 9 inches wide. Designed perfectly to smash (not slice) it's way through waves. And as for the port side delamination you can see in the photo....remember SMASH, not slice !
