Re: Your posted comment on the "Melbourne in port race -A different view", I too was extended great courtesy by the Movistar team. I have no connection to the Volvo or any teams, but I am researching a book on the history of the Southern Ocean, and flew to Melbourne to see if I could get a quote from some of the guys on this and previous races. Bouwe, Chris Nicholson. Andrew Cape, and Noel Drennan from Movistar all gave their time freely- and these guys are busy. After a long day on the water, they spoke to me and were straight back on board preparing for the in-port race. I approached the remarkable Magnus Olsson and five of the Ericsson team, two guys from ABN Amro 1, & three from the Pirates for quotes. All agreed. When Mike Sanderson from the Black boat finished speaking to me, he realized Jan Dekker was busy replacing blocks in the cockpit, so Moose sent me on board to talk and make it happen.

Paul Cayard apologized he couldn't spare any time earlier, and we talked at 5.30 the night before the in-port. And finally Pirates Bowman Curtis Blewett ran out of time, apologized and gave me his phone number and e-mail to contact him on his next day off! Everyone from sailors to shore crew wished me good luck. This may not sound like much, but when you are a one man band working on your own project, this sort of support and professionalism from the guys really helps. Good on em.
